CR2 file format
CR2 (filetype of canon cameras) is a raw image format which allows user to save an image file in its original raw format. The saved raw files saved has no access to view immediately, like JPG or PNG. The main feature of this format is it has the full information captured by the camera sensor for which it is much easier to post-edit any picture. Most importantly, it has no quality loss even after editing, which is tough with JPEG format.
The process of creating a raw picture like CR2 format is to process a picture through a raw converter in a wide-gamut internal colorspace before transforming it into a format that is easy to save, print, share, or download. It supports 12 or 14 bits of color and uses lossless squeezing. CR2 is a next generation of CRW. Also, CR2 formats are constructed on the TIFF file format.
