|Description||PSB (Photoshop Big) is a proprietary file format developed by Adobe for storing large Photoshop documents, with dimensions up to 300,000 pixels in any dimension. PSB is a successor to the more commonly used PSD (Photoshop Document) file format, which is limited to a maximum size of 30,000 by 30,000 pixels.|
|Technical details||PSB files have a similar structure to PSD files, with layers, masks, channels, and other Photoshop features. However, PSB files use a different file header and are stored in a 64-bit format to accommodate the large document sizes. PSB files also support all the color modes available in Photoshop, including RGB, CMYK, grayscale, and Lab.
In addition to Photoshop, some other image editors can open and edit PSB files, including GIMP and PaintShop Pro. However, many other applications may not support the PSB format due to its proprietary nature.|
