TCR file format
Psion developed the .tcr file to be used together with their Series palmtop devices which were created in the 1990s. The primary intention for developing this format was for use on the device, however some eBook readers can still function to allow viewing of .tcr files. The file format became out dated after the production of palmtop was stopped.
The ZVR is the basis for the development of the TCR. TCR allows compression ratios of about fifty percent that are relatively better than PalmDOC. The major competitor of the TCR format during the period within which it was first released. One needs to use suitable software in opening a TCR file, otherwise a return message will be sent. The correct opening of a TCR file can be done by right-clicking or long-pressing the file after which the user can then choose the application.
