Description🔵 DOCX is a file format used by Microsoft Word to store documents. DOCM is a similar file format but also includes support for macros. Like the DOCX format, the DOCM format is based on the Office Open XML file format and uses a ZIP container to store the various components of the document.
Technical details🔵 A DOCM file can contain text, images, tables, charts, and other elements commonly found in word processing documents. Additionally, it can also contain macros written in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), which allow for the automation of repetitive tasks or the addition of custom functionality. DOCX and DOCM files can be opened and edited in Microsoft Word and other word processing programs that support the Office Open XML format. However, macros contained in DOCM files may not be supported in all programs or may require specific security settings to be enabled before they can be executed.
